Hi! I’m Teacher Sharla, proud owner and operator of Teacher Sharla’s Music Studio. I started Teacher Sharla’s 
Music Studio in my living room in 1999, with group lessons through the Music for Young Children Program.
Then in 2020, I pivoted to support my existing students online during the Pandemic. Now in 2025, I’m looking
forward to offering music lessons to students around the world, with virtual piano lessons from the comfort of
your home! My lessons are fun, engaging and dynamic. I use a variety of technology and online teacher tools
like Boom cards, Zoom recitals and YouTube demonstration videos to enhance my lessons.

Over the last 26 years, I’ve taught more than 1000 students virtually and in person, with no plans to stop now!

In person lessons happen in my dedicated music studio space with 5 full size digital pianos and an acoustic
piano as well as rhythm instruments, boomwhackers, handbells and more! Group classes are the fastest
growing option at my Edmonton music studio. Parents love them because siblings can learn together,
streamlining the weekly rat race..I mean schedule 🙂

lessons? They’re convenient, private, flexible and fun! You and your child can engage with me as if I was sitting
in your music room…without the commute and traffic! Not to mention those cold snowy days – no one needs to
get out and warm up the car for you. Just boot up your computer, and you’re connected!

Lessons include sight reading, ear training, music theory, improvisation, practice encouragement/incentives
and good musical conversations. Students can stay connected through email or text with any questions they
have, and once a month we all get together in a group class to share our progress!
